The school aims at providing a solid background to Master, PhD students and young researchers interested in the analysis of spatial data with particular reference to economic applications:
  • Seminars on spatial economics, spatial statistics, spatial econometrics, panel data and spatial panel data
  • 68 hours of teaching + 40 hours of computer lab
  • Final evaluation via exams (not compulsory)
  • Practical experiences using R, STATA, GeoDaSpace, GeoDa and PySAL.

VI World Conference - Salvador, July 11 to 13, 2012 Spatial Econometrics Association (SEA) (2012)

The VI World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association (SEA) has the objective to bring together economists, econometricians and regional scientists to discuss the present achievements and future challenges and opportunities in spatial data analysis. The conference is organized by the Centro de Desenvolvimento e Planejamento Regional (Centre for Regional Development and Planning - CEDEPLAR) at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

The Conference will take place from 11-13 of July, 2012 in Bahia Othon Palace Hotel, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. It will be the first SEA World Conference in Latin America. Please check important dates and submission instructions here.

The Conference will be preceded by 1 day of intensive courses in Spatial Econometrics and Spatial Data Analysis. We are pleased to announce Prof. Greene and Prof. Pesaran as Keynote Speakers. We'd like to highlight that a special issue of Empirical Economics will be published with papers presented at the conference.

NARSC represents the interests of regional scientists in North America, and is a founding member of the Regional Association of the Americas. The European Regional Science Association (ERSA), and the Pacific Regional Science Conference Organization (PRSCO) service the needs of regional scientists throughout Europe and the Pacific Rim, respectively.
